A blend of the organic and digital that creates a visual meditation on time, loss, and the enduring power of human memory.

These images, embedded with both natural and synthetic elements, invite contemplation on memory, transience, and human experience, much like the works of Louis Stettner and Katrina Slui. Stettner, often capturing the poetry of everyday life, found meaning in fleeting moments and visualized the quiet beauty of human experience. 3D elements seem to float within the organic landscape, emphasizing the tension between permanence and impermanence. Similarly, Katrina Slui’s work addresses the interconnection between memory, landscape, and the transient nature of perception. Her examination of the human experience through layered narratives aligns with how these images explore temporality through abstract, almost dreamlike manipulations.

The surreal integration of 3D shapes juxtaposed with the recognizable natural world emphasizes the idea of memory as both vivid and distorted—a fundamental concept within Slui’s practice. Drawing parallels with David Campany’s reflections on the image and the archive, we find ourselves pulled into a dialogue between what is captured and what is forgotten. Campany often reflects on the interplay between what is seen and unseen, tangible and intangible, much like how the abstract shapes here elicit a sense of displacement within the familiar.
